By Rosalind Russell – It’s the greatest time of year yet again, and the Dewar family of Manitoulin Island kicked into gear in mid-March to get that beautiful maple sap tapped.
Trevor Dewar says this means, of course, it’s time to turn that first golden delicious litre into helping those battling Cancer in Northern Ontario.
The year is the 11th annual Dewar Family Maple Syrup Auction, and to date, this auction has raised $23,550 for cancer treatment in Northern Ontario.
Trevor says this year’s winner is Myles MacLeod, with a bid of $1,200.00.
He adds it was another exciting year and we’re ecstatic to be able to bring these proceeds to Health Sciences North where they will be used in the Northern Cancer Center to help those battling cancer in Northern Ontario.
He and the family extend their thanks to the wider community for all their support!
