By Rosalind Russell – A psychologist who works with the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon has been presented with a literacy award for her work.
Education director Paul Henry says on April 14th, as part of its conference, the International Dyslexia Association of Ontario paid tribute to Alex-Andrée Madore by presenting her with the 2023 Literacy Leader Award.
He says the award recognizes her engagement in promoting awareness and understanding of structured literacy programming while helping students with learning disabilities through the science of reading.
He adds not only does she use her website to help her students, Madore also created a YouTube channel offering science-based education for students and their families.
