Rainbow Student Senate hosting Leadership Through Action Conference

By Rosalind Russell – As part of Education Week, the Rainbow District School Board Student Senate is hosting the Leadership Through Action Conference today at Cambrian College.

Student Senate Chair Jocelyn Kuntsi  says having an action plan is the best way to achieve goals, so the conference provides participants with skills to be leaders in their own schools.
She adds four-time Guinness World Record holder Scott Hammell, a risk-taker who has done many stunts such as jumping from a plane while blindfolded and hanging upside down from a hot air balloon while in a straitjacket will be speaking at the event.
Kuntsi adds following his presentation, participants will engage in breakout sessions to discuss various topics such as mental health, environmental action, and student leadership.
The conference was financed through a SpeakUp grant from the Ministry of Education.
