By Rosalind Russell – The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board’s Mark Frolick has been named the 2023 recipient of the Archbishop Philip Pocock Award for Excellence in Religious Education.
In nominating Frolick for the award HSCDSB Faith Animator, Sister Pat Carter says he is a caring individual who strives to make religious education relevant to his students.
She says Frolick, who teaches Grade 7/8 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School in Elliot Lake, was named the 2023 award recipient at the Catholic Association of Religious and Family Life Educators of Ontario conference on March 30th.
Frolick says he is humbled to receive the award adding the work he does relies on a whole team of people and accepted the award on behalf of all those who have walked with me on this journey.
Sister Carter adds Frolick is the first teacher from board to be a recipient of the prestigious award.
