By Rosalind Russell – Espanola’s latest recreation attraction is nearly ready to go.
The Town of Espanola says the final certification, equipment checks, and construction of the new splash pad should be completed by June 16th in time for a soft opening.
A grand opening is slated to take place Thursday, June 29th at 11 am officially renaming the park the W. P. Foster Park in memory of former deputy mayor and councillor, Bill Foster, who passed away suddenly June 28th of last year.
ABC Recreation, the general contractor has built a pad 2,480 square feet in size housing 19 features as well as two wheelchair accessible activators at a cost of around $220,000.
The town also redesigned the street to allow for additional parking for users.
