By Rosalind Russell – An Algoma District nursing home will be offering a fully funded Personal Support Program in January of next year.
Tanya McColeman of the Algoma Manor Nursing Home says they will be running the program in collaboration with Sault College onsite in Thessalon starting in January 2024.
She says students would be required to sign a two-year employment contract with the Algoma Manor and would be offered a flexible working schedule while taking the six-month program.
McColeman adds the scheduling would allow them to work while also completing their studies over the two-year time period adding no experience is necessary to apply.
