By Rosalind Russell – Jessie Hennessey and her family extend a huge thank you to the community for their continued support of her son, Elijah.
Jessie says he is sleeping comfortably following surgery in Toronto and she is happy to say it was a success with Elijah now having a fully repaired heart with normal circulation – four chambers and two perfect ventricles.
The five year old was born with several heart problems and many doctors who assessed him did not believe he would survive, but Elijah has beaten the odds.
Jessie, and grandma, Darla Hennessey, are so grateful for all the support, both socially and financially, the city of Elliot Lake has provided to their little warrior.
She adds he is awake and the plans for today are to wean him off some of the meds and get him eating.
