Interim CEO named to Health Sciences North

By Rosalind Russell – An interim CEO has been named to oversee operations at Health Sciences North while a national search gets underway for a replacement for Dominic Giroux who left the position June 15th.

Giroux left the hospital after five and a half years in the top job and has accepted an offer to become president and CEO of Montfort Hospital in his hometown of Ottawa.

To fill the gap, the hospital board has named Mark Hartman as the interim CEO and president until the position is filled, likely this fall.

Hartman began working as a radiation therapist at the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre when he arrived from Australia in 1992 and filled various positions over the years.
