Transit study contract approved by Elliot Lake council

By Rosalind Russell – Elliot Lake council has awarded a contract for a transit study to a Brampton-based consulting company.

Council has passed a motion to enter an agreement with EXP Services Incorporated to review local transit systems and make recommendations on improving the services provided by the municipality.

Back in March of 2021, the city had signed the Investing in Canada’s Infrastructure – Transit Stream – Funding Agreement for a multi-year transit review project aimed at reviewing and improving overall accessibility and operations for a more reliable and higher quality service.

Public open houses will be held through the process which is expected to take up to eight months to complete.

Council approved the contract for $57,588 with the work to begin this summer and a report expected by late fall.
