Parade planned by Little Warrior to say thank you

By Rosalind Russell – A special parade is being planned as a unique way for a five-year-old Elliot Lake boy to say thank you to the community for supporting his medical journey.

Elijah Hennessey, the son of Jessie Hennessey went through major heart surgery to repair congenital birth defects just over two weeks ago at Toronto’s Sick Kids Hospital.

His mother Jessie says the Little Warrior, as he is fondly called, has made an astounding recovery and has returned home to Elliot Lake adding the first words he said to his grandma Darla, was ‘I made it’, summing up his long fight to a healthy heart.

He wants to say thank you, so everyone is asked to meet this Sunday at the French high school in Elliot Lake at 2:30 pm, and at 3 pm, the motorcade will head out to his grandparents’ house at 22 Washington Crescent so Elijah can wave to all those who have shared in his journey.

A graduate from kindergarten, he is looking forward to the fall, but before that wants to say thank you to the wider community for all their support during his medical journey.
