By Rosalind Russell – Members of the Penokean Hills Field Naturalists in Elliot Lake installed six new educational interpretive signs at the entrance to Sheriff Creek Sanctuary and along the trails this week.
Spokesperson Jim Johnston says they hope the signage adds to the overall experience of trail users adding the signage should help people understand the rich diversity of fauna in the area.
The signage features animals such as the black bear along with information about the native species that inhabit the area.
He adds BHP, the former Rio Algom funded the signs, which were designed and made by Laird Signs of Iron Bridge.
