Colleges reach deal in Ontario

By Rosalind Russell – Full-time college support staff in Ontario will be getting a 9.5 per cent increase in pay over three years after a settlement was reached with the College Employer Council.

OPSEU says about 9,000 workers are impacted across the province — including administrative assistants, admissions and registration staff and others.

The union says the deal comes after several weeks of negotiations and after a Superior Court of Ontario decision to overturn Bill 124.

The provincial legislation limited workers to one per cent increases.
