Shoppers Drug Mart in Elliot Lake hosts kickoff off 2023 Annual Giving Shelter Fundraising Campaign!

By Rosalind Russell – Shoppers Drug Mart in Elliot Lake kicked off its 2023 Giving Shelter Fundraiser this weekend to support women, women’s shelters, and the programs they provide.

The campaign was launched on Saturday at what was billed a Beauty Mingle where staff was joined by Ana Lees Apothecary to do mini makeovers, skin consultations, face painting and even glitter tattoos.

Both businesses are committed to fostering health equity for all women to lead healthier lives.

The campaign will run until October 6th with 100 per cent of donations going to the Mississaugi Women’s Shelter called the Apo-way-a-in Wigamin, and its programs.

There are several ways to donate. You can donate at the time of purchase by buying a hand for $2, $5, $10 or $20. Customers are then encouraged to put their name or a message of encouragement/ positivity on the paper hand and put it up in our window!

Mississauga Women’s Shelter will provide a safe home for all women and their children, in any crisis; will educate families on the issues and impacts of the cycle of violence; and will promote healthy lifestyle.
