Heart of Gold Radiothon exceeds goal

By Rosalind Russell – The Heart of Gold Radiothon exceeded its goal to raise funds for the Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer volunteer organization.

Moose 99.3 FM – CJJM hosted this year’s radiothon raising $6,417, well over its goal of $5,000.

The funds were presented to a sold-out crowd of over 300 at the NOFCC Gold Soiree Gala held this past Saturday at the Steelworkers Hall in Sudbury.

The campaign was part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, which was officially proclaimed by Mayor Doug Gervais and council at the beginning of September.

The winners of the prize board are as follows:

Third place (Tim Hortons and Moose prize package): George and June Wade

Second Place ($25 Gift Card from Giant Tiger, original art work from Wild Horse Studio, and Moose Bling): Brenda Cormier

AND our grand winner of the BroilKing BBQ donated by Jake’s Home Centre is: Lise Gionet.
