Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board celebrates 25 years since amalgamation

By Rosalind Russell – The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board marked a historical occasion last Friday with the celebration of the annual Faith Day and the commemoration of its 25th anniversary since the amalgamation of five former separate school boards.

Staff from Espanola, Massey, Blind River, and Elliot Lake travelled to Sault Ste. Marie to take part in the gathering.

Education Director Danny Viotto says the day included special performances by students, a special Mass and a video highlighting the 25-year history of the board.

Viotto adds it was a special day to reflect on how far the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board has come since 1998 and the exciting road ahead for the next 25 years.
