Township celebrating 25 years of incorporation

By Rosalind Russell – Every year, Ontario celebrates Local Government Week during the third week of October to increase public awareness of the important roles local governments play in municipalities.

Sables-Spanish Rivers Township deputy clerk Amanda St. Michel says this year, Local Government Week is October 15th to 21st and to celebrate the township’s 25th anniversary, there will be a series of information sessions for residents of the municipality.

She says the sessions will focus on township operations, the role of various departments and ongoing projects.

St. Michel says there will be three sessions running from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.: October 17th at the Massey Arena, the 18th at the Webbwood Eagles Hall and the 19th at the Walford Hall.

Light refreshments will be provided at each event. RSVP is not required but it is greatly appreciated so they can ensure there are enough treats for everyone! Scan the QR Code to RSVP by October 6th or click the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/twptalks

Please note this is an information session only and not a question/answer forum. Should you have questions, you will be directed to the appropriate person to contact.

If you have questions, contact St. Michel at 705-865-2646 or email astmichel@sables-spanish.ca.
