Full masking policy put in place at Elliot Lake Hospital

By Rosalind Russell – St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake has implemented a full masking policy to prioritize the health and safety of the patients, staff, and community.

Hospital CEO Jeremy Stevenson says they are taking the proactive step to combat a recent surge in COVID-19 cases. Effective immediately, the hospital will reintroduce Universal Masking measures within its premises.

He says universal masking will apply to all individuals entering the hospital, including patients, visitors, and staff.

Stevenson adds visitors will be provided with masks upon entry and must always wear them within the hospital.

He says all staff members are also required to wear masks regardless of vaccination status.

Stevenson adds visitor restrictions also remain in place with only essential or compassionate visits allowed.
