Still no national chief after six ballots

By Rosalind Russell – Voting is scheduled to resume later this morning (11 am Eastern) after a sixth ballot failed to elect a new Assembly of First Nations chief late last night.

Delegates were sent home because the 60 per cent threshold hadn’t been reached.

Regional chief Cindy Woodhouse leads the way with 56.4 per cent of the vote followed by the only remaining challenger, Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations vice-chief David Pratt.

He received 43.6 per cent support in the last round.
