Holiday Smile Cookie campaign raises funds for long-term care retrofit

By Rosalind Russell – The inaugural Holiday Smile Cookie hosted by Tim Hortons in Espanola is considered a success with the funds going towards the long-term care project at the Espanola Regional Hospital to update the long-term facility.

Hospital foundation publicist, Terri Noble, says Tim Hortons’ owner Al Martin presented the cheque to them yesterday for $2,595.

Noble says they are happy to have been chosen as this year’s recipient in support of the “We’re Close to Home” campaign, which has raised just over $185,000 of its $600,000 goal so far.

She also extends a thank you to the volunteers who not only iced the sweet treats, but to all those who purchased a cookie for the cause.
