Gastro outbreak declared at St. Joseph’s Manor

By Rosalind Russell – St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake has a gastrointestinal outbreak that was declared on both floors at the long-term care home, St. Joseph’s Manor on Wednesday by Algoma Public Health.

Hospital CEO Jeremy Stevenson says visitation protocols remain the same but Essential Care Partners are advised against providing hands-on care to confirmed cases at this time.

He adds if individuals decide to visit their loved ones, full personal protective equipment is required for visitors of residents who have confirmed cases.
