Personal Support Worker program being offered in French  

By Rosalind Russell – Starting in October 2024, Carrefour Options+Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon’s continuing education school, will once again offer the Personal Support Worker in Sudbury.  

Board communication officer Paul de la Riva says the program is being offered to students 18 years of age and older, to be trained in French to provide care in long-term care homes and community home care agencies.  

He adds their board is the second school board to offer this program in French in Ontario. 

De la Riva adds students will receive in class and practical training with no tuition fees for the theoretical component of the program and will be paid for certain placements.  

He says persons interested in the program must attend an information session before the program gets underway.  

Persons interested in this program are required to take part in one of the information sessions scheduled for Thursday, February 15, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, from 12:30 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, from 9 to 11: 30 a.m., Thursday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Thursday, May 23, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. It is possible to register for these sessions and obtain more information by contacting Jocelyne Leclair, Carrefour Options+jocelyne.leclair@nouvelon.ca. Carrefour Options+ is located at 504 St-Raphaël Street, Sudbury.
