Seminars for businesses in Blind River area provided by OPP

By Rosalind Russell – The East Algoma OPP is hosting two seminars in the Blind River area next week to help businesses protect their investments.

OPP Constable Bev Gauthier says next Wednesday, February 7th, the OPP is teaming up with members from the OPP Auxiliary Program for a small business SafeGuard Ontario information session.

She says utilizing a problem-oriented policing approach, program initiatives are supported through its Property Security Reviews of homes and small businesses by OPP Auxiliary members specially trained through the program.

She says the training helps businesses on the basic principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design with a primary focus to help reduce or prevent re-victimization of property crimes.

Gauthier says the two afternoon sessions are set for 2 pm and 4 pm at École Secondaire Catholique Jeunesse Nord.

If you are a small business and believe this education initiative would benefit your business and employees, please contact Constable Bev Gauthier via email at: Beverley.gauthier@opp.ca for more information.
