By Rosalind Russell – The most recent donation to the St. Joseph’s General Hospital Foundation has brought the organization once step closer to its goal of $700,000.
Five musicians who staged an afternoon of music made a $3,200 donation to the foundation for upgrades to the oncology department late last week.
The musicians include Brian and Louise Williams, Harmony duo Debbie French and Sheila Hoo, and single artist Patti Weber.
The foundation has raised more than $500,000 of its goal in the last year.
The funding will be matched by the province so cancer treatment will be improved locally, and patients will not have to travel out of town for treatment.
