By Rosalind Russell – Laurentian University confirms there was a limited data breach after a cyber incident in February.
Officials with the school say the theft of data affects some individuals associated with the Living with Lakes Centre / Co-operative Freshwater Ecology Unit and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, including employees, students and more.
While an investigation to see what exact data was exposed will take months, Laurentian says they’ll provide a no cost two-year credit monitoring service to all those whose who were exposed.
That information will come from the school via e-mail.
They also ask any undergraduate medical student and postgraduate resident of NOSM who entered the program from 2005 to 2019 to contact them for more information.
