Dozens of kids from our area are heading to the city for Little NHL

By Rosalind Russell – The puck is about to drop for the 50th Anniversary of the Little NHL.

Every March break, thousands of Indigenous youths and their families travel to southern Ontario to participate in the tournament including entire teams from the North Shore Corridor and Manitoulin Island.

This year the event’s taking place in Markham with actual games taking place at various venues throughout the south.

Earlier this year, organizers shared a record-breaking 246 teams have signed up from across the province.

The opening ceremonies take place on March 10th.
