By Rosalind Russell – The body of Brian Mulroney will lie in state in Ottawa this week, ahead of the planned state funeral for Canada’s 18th Prime Minister.
He will lie-in-state at the Sir John A. Macdonald Building in Ottawa tomorrow and Wednesday, with the funeral taking place in Montreal on Saturday.
Prior to the ceremony, a procession will take place and feature a mounted RCMP and Canadian Armed Forces escort. the guard of honour, as well as the Royal Canadian Air Force Band.
Eulogies will be offered by his daughter, MPP Caroline Mulroney, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Wayne Gretzky among others.
Mulroney served as Prime Minster from 1984 to 1993.
He passed away on February 29th.
