Creation of a senior family membership the Espanola complex

By Rosalind Russell – Espanola council has approved the creation of a senior family membership at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex.

According to Community and Recreation Manager Bailey Bouwmeester, prior to the new fee structure implemented in January of this year, there were two groups labelled couples and senior couples.

He says those two categories were eliminated to streamline membership, but they encountered a few scenarios where seniors were being charged considerably more for the all-in-one membership then they were previously.

He suggested council creates a senior membership group to help ease the transition for seniors couples, which would allow seniors who purchased the previous “seniors couple” membership to still see a similar savings as prior to the new membership program.

Council agreed and approved the new category.
