Know a paramedic, say thank you

By Rosalind Russell – In honour of the nearly 11,000 dedicated paramedics in Ontario, Paramedic Services Week 2024 kicked off yesterday.

Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs President Michael Sanderson says this year’s theme is “Help Us, Help You” and was selected given the current challenges on the healthcare system.

He says it will focus on educating the public about the different ways paramedics help beyond emergency response and to consider other programs and services before calling 911.

Sanderson stresses the main purpose of Paramedic Services Week is to celebrate paramedics and their commitment to the welfare of others.
