Another memorandum signed to partner for Indigenous health care in North Shore

By Rosalind Russell – Over the last couple of months Maamwesying North Shore Community Health Services Incorporated has been partnering with various local hospitals to partner on health care.

The latest partnership has been signed between the Maamwesying Ontario Health Team, and St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake

Officials say the agreement aims to integrate Indigenous cultural knowledge and traditional practices into the healthcare system, thereby improving access and awareness of Indigenous Health Services available in the Northeast region.

This latest collaboration provides integrated, culturally led care for First Nations across the North Shore Corridor.
