By Rosalind Russell – Espanola council has voted in favour of contracting with Fort Garry Limited for the building of a new fire truck for the local fire department.
The Corporate Services Committee recommend Fort Garry Ind. be awarded the contract to build the replacement Pumper/Tanker, which will be to replace the existing 9120 fire truck as the lowest bidder out of three.
The winning bid for building the new vehicle came in at $596,566 and it is expected to be delivered in 2026.
The company will build the 1500 Gallon Pumper/Tanker Truck to the specifications of the fire department.
