By Rosalind Russell – The Town of Espanola welcomed some 200 seniors yesterday as part of Seniors Appreciation Day.
Various organizations including health care, library and other services offered their respectful expertise in senior matters at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex.
The Town, with the assistance of council and staff, and TD and student volunteers, provided a luncheon with Mayor Doug Gervais extending his thanks to the seniors for providing their volunteer skills and knowledge in keeping the community viable.
Seniors also spent the day at the recreation centre enjoying free pickleball, swims and access to the gym.
