By Rosalind Russell – Mindemoya on Manitoulin Island opens its four-day ball tournament today with 37 teams taking part and 78 games to be played.
Co-organizer Greg Lockeyer says the tourney features players aged seven to 19 taking part in five divisions, about 450 in all with the opening games starting at 5:30 this evening.
He says the games will take place at the two main ballfields as well as Central Manitoulin Public School.
Games resume Friday at 4:00 through until 10:00pm with action back underway Saturday morning at 8:30am.
Playoffs take place all day Sunday, beginning at 8:15am.
The public is invited to attend.
