Manitoulin manor opens new garden for residents

By Rosalind Russell – The Manitoulin Centennial Manor courtyard was the perfect setting for a new garden, which was officially opened this weekend.

“Mary’s Garden” at the manor in Little Current was officially opened with a ribbon cutting in memory of the late Mary den Otter.

The support of the family, Joe, Allen, and David DenOtter, along with funding from the annual Tree of Lights opened the way for the new addition for residents and guests who come to visit.

A unique mural was painted on the outside wall by local area artist Maxim Grunin to add the finishing touch to the living space.

Following the ribbon cutting, both residents and guests were treated to a light lunch and cake.
