Denison Mines celebrating 70th anniversary

By Rosalind Russell – Denison Mines may have shut down, but the company continues to have a vital role in the community of Elliot Lake.

Denison Mines is celebrating their 70th anniversary and remains committed to the responsible operation of their fully reclaimed mine sites and ongoing vigilance at the sites of both the Denison and Stanrock Mines.

As the longest continuous uranium mining operator in the Elliot Lake region, Denison processed some 69 million tonnes of ore over the life of the mine.

To celebrate that community spirit, the Denison Mines organization is hosting a free community gathering on July 23rd at the Westview Park in Elliot Lake at 6 pm followed by fireworks at dusk.
