By Rosalind Russell – The Swing Bridge in Little Current was alive with colour and sound yesterday morning.
The unique ‘Blanket of Stars’ warrior walk hosted by Weengushk International Film Festival paid respect to residential schools and survivors.
Well over 100 people took part, some wearing a star blanket, others jingle dancing, with plenty of drumming and song.
The Manitoulin OPP and Little Current Swing Bridge operator facilitated the residential school survivor march across the bridge.
With this success, there has also been discussion about having it become a yearly event.
