By Rosalind Russell – The federal government says its new Canada Greener Homes Affordability program will help save Canadians money on their energy bills and cut pollution.
The 800-million-dollar program is geared toward low-to-median-income Canadians, including tenants, to help upgrade their homes.
It will replace the Canada Greener Homes Grant which has already helped 240-thousand homeowners install heat pumps, windows and doors, and insulation.
The feds say the average grant in that program has been 44-hundred dollars per household – with nearly 400-dollars in annual savings on energy bills.
