On July 18th, 2024, Stellantis, makers of the 2017-2021 Chrysler Pacifica PlugIn Hybrids (PHEVs), issued a recall due to battery fire risk.
Stellantis has advised owners not to recharge their vehicles or park near other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs are completed.
Customers have reported smoke inhalation while the vehicles were turned off; some occurred while recharging.
It has been determined the safety risks were linked to an abnormality in individual cells of the model’s high-voltage battery pack.
