Vandalism in Gore Bay has mayor concerned

By Rosalind Russell – Gore Bay’s mayor says it is unfortunately that some town properties has been the victim of vandalism over the past couple of weeks.

Mayor Ron Lane says last weekend, downtown decorations were vandalized, and their tennis court, the new waterfront washrooms and parking area wee also damaged.

He adds there has been ongoing tampering with town signage and now someone removed one of the benches from the playground, transported it to the East Bluff and throw it over the bluff.

He adds it has since been recovered and will be repaired.

Lane says the malicious conduct will not be tolerated and those responsible will be prosecuted regardless of their age.

He is also asking if anyone has any knowledge to contact the town office.
