Massey Area Museum closing – finances will dictate future decisions

By Rosalind Russell – The board of the Massey Area Museum has made the decision to close the museum as of the end of this month because of financial stress.

According to the release, rather than remaining open throughout the year, the board has made the decision to close as of August 24th.

They will continue to do the Catch the Ace weekly and host possible limited fundraising throughout the year.

The financial situation will be reviewed in late fall and depending on the results, will dictate if it reopens in 2025.

The board also extended thanks to the volunteers and wider community for their support.
