Drinking water advisory in Gore Bay for specific areas

By Rosalind Russell – Public Health Sudbury & Districts has issued a drinking water advisory  for all businesses and residents of Range Street, Park Street, and areas south of Park Street in Gore Bay using municipal drinking water.

Agency protection division manager Burgess Hawkins says the advisory means people who take their water from the municipal system should not use it for consumption, cooking or personal care, such as brushing teeth.

However, he says, it can be used for laundry and bathing.

Burgess adds residents can bring and fill their own containers at the nearest water filling station located at the Water Treatment Plant at 119 Lighthouse Road.

He says once the municipality has re-established the water supply, which was interrupted due to maintenance, residents should not use the water for human consumption until advised otherwise.
