By Rosalind Russell – Sunday’s power outage led to water problems for a Manitoulin Island community.
The Township of Assiginack issued a drinking water advisory from Public Health Sudbury and Districts because officials say the generator for Sunsite Estates failed to engage, so the municipality was without water for some ten hours.
The agency issued a second advisory for Manitowaning as well because a hose blew on their respective generator.
Public Health says the advisories are expected to be in place for a couple of days and no one should consume the water at all .
Tests are being carried out daily.
