By Rosalind Russell – An Indigenous exhibition has opened in Sudbury.
The Indigenous Ingenuity: Timeless Inventions (Anishinaabewin Maamninendimowin: Pane Gii-Bite), presented by Indigenous Tourism Ontario is now open as a free special exhibition at Science North for a limited time.
Sudbury is the 17th stop of the tour, and one of nearly 20 communities in Northern Ontario to host the one-of-a-kind exhibition.
The exhibit will travel across the north, presenting a clever and novel mix of science and culture intended to stir a sense of pride among First Nation, Inuit and Métis communities.
The Igloo installation in the exhibition is an original creation by the National Film Board designed to bring to life the richness of Canadian Inuit culture.
The tour is also expected to have a significant economic impact and has created jobs.
