HSCDSB announces new superintendent – hails from Espanola

By Rosalind Russell – Sacred Heart School in Espanola will have a new principal this year.

That is because long-time principal Syndy Withers has been named the new Superintendent of Education for the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board.

Withers says she is thrilled to embark on this new journey and collaborate with the existing senior leadership team for the board.

Withers began her career in education in 1998 as an elementary school teacher at Sacred Heart eventually being appointed principal filling that role for the last 16 years.

Withers takes over the position previously held by Christine Durocher, who will retire at the end of August.
