By Rosalind Russell – It has been well over a year but swimmers in Elliot Lake should be able to get back in the water soon.
City Staff and Contractors have been working hard to get the pool at the Ruben Yli-Juuti Centre open.
The work, which has been comprehensive, includes new mechanical systems such as a dehumidifier and heating units, sandblasting and refinishing of the ceiling and extensive work to the plumbing, pool deck and pool.
If all goes well and the facility passes the final inspections, it will reopen in time for fall programming.
