By Rosalind Russell – Elliot Lake Fire Chief John Thomas says yesterday morning just after two am, the Elliot Lake Fire Department received a 911 call for a working fire at 40 Chalmers Road.
He says upon arrival on the scene, the fire department crew reported smoke visible from the home.
Thomas adds crews searched the dwelling and rescued one male victim, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
He says the fire was brought under control around 4:30 am and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office is investigating. Photo provided by Elliot Lake Fire Department
