No criminality involved in fatal house fire in Blind River 

By Rosalind Russell – A long-time Blind River resident is dead following a fire in Blind River in late October. 

Sixty-three-year-old Jean Guy Pilon of Blind River was pronounced deceased following a house fire in the town on October 21st. 

East Algoma OPP Constable Bev Gauthier says police, the Blind River Fire Department and the Ontario Fire Marshall attended the scene. 

She adds no criminality was involved with the blaze and the fire marshall released the scene the following day. 

The deceased was transported to Toronto for a postmortem on October 22nd. 

No cause for the fire or cause of death has been released as of press time.
