By Rosalind Russell – It’s good news for Elliot Lakers who have been patiently waiting for the retrofit of the local pool to be completed.
According to the release, the City of Elliot Lake re-opened the facility to the public yesterday.
The Ruben Yli-Juuti Centre opened at nine am offering aquafit and deep water aquafit for free to the public.
Those free classes will continue this week.
The fitness centre has also re-opened and is available at 7:30 am.
The city says they will be providing an up-to-date schedule soon offering a wide variety of water activities to the public and local swim groups.
The pool was closed two years ago and underwent major renovations in that period.
