Timeriski ready to run race on two key issues – highways and health care

By Rosalind Russell – New Democrats in Algoma–Manitoulin nominated David Timeriski of Elliot Lake to be their candidate for the provincial election last Thursday.

Timeriski is a long-time resident who has served his community as a Volunteer Firefighter and Paramedic for most of his career.

Timeriski says his platform will focus on two key areas: transportation, especially improving Northern highways and health care.

He adds that health care in Canada is free and he wants to maintain and improve the services that exist in the riding and across the province.

He admits there are plenty of challenges ahead, but can focus on the four-week campaign and looks forward to going door-to-door to meet people and talk to voters about his platform
Meanwhile, NDP leader Marit Stiles is endorsing him adding Timeriski is the ideal candidate to represent the best of his riding with integrity, compassion, and a strong sense of duty which is exactly the type of leadership needed at Queen’s Park.
