By Rosalind Russell – Income tax cuts are the first shiny bobble being dangled in front of Canadians this election campaign.
Liberal leader Mark Carney has announced a reduction in the lowest income tax bracket from 15 to 14 per cent.
It’s a move he says would save two-income families up to $825 a year.
Yesterday, the federal Conservatives promised a deeper cut — from 15 to 12.75 per cent on the lowest income tax bracket.
Leader Pierre Poilievre says the average Canadian worker would save up to $900 a year — and double that amount for two income families.
Election Day is April 28.
