Acquisition makes Vista Radio third largest company in Canada

By Rosalind Russell – Vista Radio – the parent company of Moose 99.3FM and Moose 94.1FM – is growing.

Vista has announced the purchase of 21 radio stations in British Columbia from Bell Media. It means the company will operate over 70 stations in BC, Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Ontario.

President Bryan Edwards says they look forward to bringing the stations and talented people into Vista Radio.

With the company’s focus being LOCAL — he says their commitment is to local programming, news, economy, and community service.

Edwards says the formula is why Vista’s growth is exponential and positions the company as the ideal steward for these frequencies and their digital presence.

The deal still requires regulatory approval.

With this acquisition, Vista Radio will operate over 70 radio stations broadcasting across over 110 frequencies and will also own and operate more than 50 locally focused news, information, and events portals for its communities.

Currently, with more than 250 employees, the Vista team is dedicated to their communities and is committed to generating local media.
